Derek Ashmore
PartnerDerek started his propane career in the Pacific Northwest in 2005 managing a multi-district operation for one of the majors. In 2008 he was asked to move to the Denver area and became a Regional Operations Vice President overseeing multiple states and complex business units. This continued till 2017 when he decided to pursue a Senior Operations leadership role with a privately held and growth-oriented propane company. Over his six years of overseeing territories from coast to coast, he assisted in multiple acquisitions and experienced growth from the 19th to sixth largest propane company in the US. Derek has tremendous operational acumen as well as acquisitional experience to ensure nothing is left unaccounted for. Derek is now driven to assist others through the challenging steps of business management and business transition to ensure sellers obtain their desired outcomes.
Trent Bischoff
PartnerTrent began his propane career in 2007 and worked for a Fortune 800 propane company for eight years prior to moving into the midstream oil and gas industry, and has been in that segment of the market ever since. Trent started his propane career as a General Manager for the south Texas market and worked his way through the ranks to become a Region Manager with stints in Texas, Washington, Oregon, Oklahoma, Kansas and Colorado. In 2014 Trent took a job in the midstream oil and gas logistics arena working for a bi-national company as Region Manager in Colorado. He quickly moved through the ranks, becoming Regional Director of the Rockies and eventually General Manager of U.S. Trucking operations reporting to the CEO. Trent was also a small business owner who sold his business and understands the process of positioning and timing of taking a business to market. Trent has now changed his focus to helping those positioning to sell their company. Similar to Derek, Trent has vast operations experience that he wants to translate into helping others realize their full potential as they market their company for sale.
Benny Gay
Director of Client DevelopmentBenny has over 40 years of propane industry experience, from hands-on delivery and service work to running an independent multi-branch company then serving as Vice President of Operations, Safety, Risk Management and Fleet for a large multi-state marketer. Having sold a company, Benny understands the seller’s needs and concerns from preparing the company for sale to selecting a buyer who will protect the company’s legacy. He also understands the buyer’s perspective, having served a key role in more than 50 transactions. Benny is well versed in the entire process from due diligence through closing with a focus on seamless employee transitions and uninterrupted customer service.
David Woolard
Director of FinanceDavid started in the energy sector in 2009 and has worked for multi-billion dollar companies focused on liquids delivery and storage operations. David has both an operational and financial background. He has experience as a Regional Operations Director, responsible for trucking operations, dispatch, and customer interface. He also held roles in finance and accounting, ascending to the level of General Manager, responsible for daily back-office procedures as well as project evaluation and mergers & acquisitions. David has crafted many purchase/sale agreements. At this point he is focused on supporting small business operators to receive the best value and terms in the sale of their business. David is passionate about helping business owners achieve retirement and financial freedom while minimizing taxes and uncertainty.
